Vehicles stopped seeing Anarkali at Lucknow Agra Expressway
Lucknow: There was chaos on the Agra Expressway in Kakori when an elephant from Unnao climbed on the expressway. Anarkali (the elephant) slowly started traveling towards the toll plaza. Seeing the elephant in the passers-by was filled with excitement. The passersby stopped the vehicles and began taking selfies and videos with Anarkali.
On receiving the information, the team of UPDA, Police, and Forest Department reached the spot. DFO Ravi Kumar instructed the team and the Mahavat to take Anarkali to the Dubagga forest range. The elephant had come from the Purva area of ​​Unnao to join the procession of Muharram in Lucknow. Which was stopped near the turn of Maunda village near Agra Expressway on Mohan Road. In the afternoon, when the mahout started eating food, Anarkali climbed on the Agra Expressway. Anarkali slowly started moving towards the toll plaza. The sight of Anarkali on the expressway created excitement among the passers-by. The passersby stopped the vehicles and started taking photos and videos of the elephant. The drivers stopped and took selfies. On the information of the elephant on the expressway, the UPDA, police, and forest department team reached the spot.
Mahavat Ram Kishan also reached while searching for the elephant. Ram Kishan started going back with the elephant. Then DFO Ravi Kumar also reached the spot. On interrogation, the mahout told that the elephant is 65 years old, and its name is Anar Kali.
The mahout told the DFO that the elephant belonged to Kanha Awasthi, a resident of Purva and he also has a license for it. He has brought it to Lucknow to be included in the procession in Muharram. Anarkali has reached here from Purva in two days. DFO Ravi Kumar instructed the employees to take the elephant to the Dubagga forest range.
