Union Health Minister holds meeting with Health Minister of 9 States / UTs, mentioning the risk of children from black fungus and mutant virus
New Delhi: Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Friday held a meeting with the health minister of 9 states and union territories through a video conference. In this meeting, he discussed the situation in these affected areas and also mentioned the possibility of danger to children due to black fungus and coronavirus causing mutants. The Union Minister also spoke about the matter being discussed with the experts and steps taken for treatment. He talked about increasing the speed of testing in these states and discussed the conditions and vaccination of Covid-19. The meeting was attended by the Health Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Andaman and Nicobar, Chandigarh, Ladakh, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Dadar, and Nagar Haveli. The Union Minister gave details of Remedisvir injection in these nine states and union territories, including the data and vaccination of the infected.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Union Health Minister gave all the data including active cases of Covid in the country, and said that improvement is being done as compared to before. The Union Health Minister expressed concern over the growing cases of black fungus in the country along with the Covid epidemic and said that there is increased production of black fungus medicine in the country. Harshvardhan has asked every state to put Black Fungs on the list of Notified Diseases. The Health Minister said that after the mutation of the virus, there is talk of risk to children, therefore special efforts will be looked into with the help of experts for children.
Explain that the Union Health Ministry appreciated the measures adopted to deal with the epidemic in the States and Union Territories, in which taxi ambulances in Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, besides mobile OPD, 12 other such initiatives have been taken. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to the health workers of Banaras today and said, ‘It has been possible to handle this pressure due to the hard work of our doctors and health workers in this extraordinary situation.’
